New Amtrak Cascades® trainsets are debuting in late 2026 in the Pacific Northwest. Designed by Siemens and manufactured in the USA, they offer significant comfort for intercity rail travel and allow the retirement of the venerable yet aging Amfleet I fleet. Arriving in semi-fixed consists, the Airo series will enable greater equipment and operational flexibility and will operate in service between Vancouver, British Columbia, Seattle, Tacoma, Portland, and Eugene, Oregon. Bachmann is delighted to build on our range of modern North American Siemens rolling stock with the introduction of the HO Scale Amtrak Cascades® Airo series. With a cab car, three coach cars, a cafe car, and a business car, featuring the iconic evergreen, mocha, and cream colors, the entire prototypical consist will be available in this release.
