GE C36-7 - Union Pacific® #588

Built between 1978 and 1989, the C36-7 was the final locomotive to be offered in General Electric’s “Dash 7” series. Capable of producing up to 3,750 horsepower, a modest number of C36-7s were ordered by US, Canadian, and Mexican railroads, while further examples were sold overseas, making the type a railfan favorite whenever it appeared in a consist. Mainline operation in the United States lasted through the mid-2000s, while examples continued to operate in short line service into the 2010s.
